School Rules
Conduct
- Students are expected to be polite and helpful at all times.

They should show respect and consideration for all members of the school community.

They should treat personal belongings and school property with respect.
-
Movement around the school should be orderly and in single file on the left hand side.
Appearance
-
Students should be in correct uniform, which should also be clean and tidy. This applies to shoes too.
-
Jewellery is not permitted other than a small pair ofearrings (girls only - one each on the ear lobe) or one itemof religious significance.
-
Sunglasses may only be worn after a medical certificate is produced. d. Caps and hats are forbidden.
-
Scarves (navy blue only) allowed with winter uniform.
-
Students with extremely short hair will not be allowed to take part in the national parades as per the Ministry Rules.

Valuable personal belongings, including expensive jewellery, lap tops, mp3 players, tablet PC's andmobile phones are not to be brought into school and will be confiscated if used or are visible.
Electronic Devices

Electronic devices are NOT allowed in school.

The school does not permit the presence or use of mobile phones in school.

If students bring them to school in opposition to school rules, they should be switched off and out of sight, otherwise mobiles will be confiscated.

If a mobile is confiscated for the first time, parents should collect it at the end of the day and next time it will confiscated will be kept for FOUR working weeks.

BE AWARE: If a pupil has taken photographs or has videoed a member of staff or a fellow pupil without his/her consent,the consequences for the perpetrator will be severe i.e. suspension and possible referral to the Police according to the precise circumstances.
Behaviour

Racist or sexist behaviour and the use of bad language will not be tolerated.

Smoking and the consumption of alcohol and illegal substances are strictly forbidden.

Cigarettes, illegal substances and alcohol should not be brought into school. Students suspectedofbreaking these rules will be referred to the Discipline committee and or the Police.

Markers (permanent and non permanent) and liquid tippex and/or delete pens are not allowed and will be confiscated.
-
Eating and drinking in classrooms during and between lessons is strictly forbidden.
-
Chewing gum is forbidden.
Break-time Rules

Behaviour at the canteen should be orderly and polite. Pupils should not push in nor should they ask others to buy for them.
-
Students should be responsible for their own litter at all times.
-
If break is indoors students should sit down quietly in their formrooms or the theatre as directed.

CANTEEN:
-
Students of Classes 6&7 are allowed in the canteen and then only during break time if the canteen manager permits them.
-
It is the responsibility of all class 6 & 7 students to make sure students from other yeargroups do NOT enter the canteen.
-
The use of the canteen is considered a privilege and as such may be withdrawn fromstudents who fail to comply to the canteen rules.

Absenteeism and Lateness
-
Students dropped off by their parents in the morning must enter & stay in the schoolyard.
-
Students may not leave the school campus between 7:40 am and 1:50 pm without written permission.
-
Absent students are responsible for finding out what was covered in class and must do the homework set.
Bags should not be left unattended.
The staff room, kitchen, offices, storerooms and staff toilets are out of bounds to students without permission.
Classroom Rules
Students must:

Get to class on time.
-
Should line up quietly and in single file outside the classroom at the beginning of lessons and wait for the teacher to arrive.
-
Students should not under any circumstances enter the classroom before the teacher arrives.
-
Sit in the chair allocated.
-
Put their hands up when wanting to speak.
-
Keep their hands, feet and objects to themselves.
-
Follow instructions first time given.
-
Respect others right to learn.
-
At the end of lessons, chairs and desks should be left tidy and students should exit quietly and in single file.
Students SHOULD use the NORTH GATE to enter/leave school.
The SOUTH GATE is out of action until further notice.
Cycles and Motorbikes

Bikes and motorbikes should be parked in the designated parking area behind the theatre.
Lockers
-
2nd Floor-Students may rent a locker for the year at a cost and pay a deposit for the key which will be refunded when the key is returned.

The school reserves the right to check a locker at any time with or without the consent of the student. In either case the locker will be opened in the presence of an Assistant Principal and another teacher. Students must sign a Locker Agreement.
School Bus

Students using the school bus must proceed to the north gate as soon as the bell goes at 1.50pm. They must make sure they have a valid bus-pass that they can buy from the accounts department.
Student Code of Conduct
The most important rules are those, which hardly need stating. Courtesy, thoughtfulness and sensitivity are all important in achieving our school aims.

- Work to the best of your ability
- Help each other when it is appropriate but don’t distract or annoy anyone
- Always put your hand up to ask or answer a question, or when you want to contribute to class discussion
- Ask for help when you need it
- Do your homework as well as you can and always hand it in on time
- Finish eating before coming into the school building
- Act responsibly at all times
